St. John’s Vulnerable Children's Ministry seeks to Share Christ with vulnerable children in our community. From easy, one-time opportunities to ongoing and involved ministry, there is a way for everyone to lend a hand and heart.
If you are unsure of fitting this commitment into your life, let us be the first to tell you that you can!
The first step in serving is to attend a Ministry Orientation and Awareness Event:
Our ministry to vulnerable children includes:
Above all this team commits to pray for our ministry to vulnerable children. When the needs arise, this team works to donate the resources needed for host, foster, and adoptive families in need: 2 Corinthians 8:7
Kinship-Caregiver's Day Off Ministry
Provides once a month respite care for kinship caregivers. This event takes place on a Saturday as volunteers spend time with the children during the day playing games and crafts and then families gather together for a meal and a worship service that evening: Psalm 68:6a
An Engineered team (much like an extended family) of 4-8 committed volunteers who support and serve a kinship or foster family and their children. This team provides regular and ongoing practical help such as meals, prayer, tutoring, childcare, transportation, laundry, yard work, etc... This is our church's God Sized Vision of coming alongside families in need: James 1:27
