Human Resource  &  Compliance Generalist

supports the day-to-day HR functions of St. John’s Lutheran Church and School while ensuring compliance with employment laws, policies, and regulatory requirements.

FLSA STATUS:  FULL TIME, HOURLY
SALARY:  $28 - $33/HOUR

responsibilities include:
  • Manages the talent acquisition process, which may include recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of qualified job applicants.
  • Manages employee onboarding process including all live scan, mandated reporter training, benefits selection, etc.
  • Provides support and management, when complex, specialized, and sensitive issues arise including accommodation requests, employee disciplinary meetings, employee terminations, and wrongdoing allegation investigations.
  • Oversee and manage a performance review and appraisal system that drives high performance.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Manages all aspects of employee-based insurance plans and programs (including benefits and workers compensation, etc.).

Intermediate Core Knowledge - Must be familiar with basic human resource concepts, tools, and practices.
