This deep, gorgeous musical prayer deserves its revered place in the pantheon of choral masterworks. Drawing heavily from the melodies of medieval chant, Maurice Duruflé layered in his own French Impressionist musical language. The result is an almost impossibly beautiful set of 9 movements, whose comforting, timeless words of prayer float along on the effortless waves of Duruflé’s luxurious harmonies. Featuring Cathedral Singers and Charles Raasch, organ.
