We will gather for worship each Wednesday during Lent to contemplate Jesus' journey to The Cross and mediate on God's great LOVE for us.
WILLING TO TRUST
The 40 days of Lent directly mirror the 40 years that Israelites spent wandering the wilderness.
If you remember, the Israelites were shown the promised land, but they did not step into it because they were afraid that they would not be able to conquer the giants who lived there. In truth, they would not have been able to take the land on their own strength; but with God’s help, all things are possible.
The Israelites had forgotten what God had done for them, they had forgotten the miracles they had seen and experienced. They didn’t trust that God would walk with them into the promised land and help them defeat these giants. They spent the next 40 years learning to trust God as their protector and provider.
What would life look like if we were willing to set aside our inclination to seek escape or comfort when faced with fear and doubt?
We can learn to respond to the giants in our lives by saying, “God, I trust you.” We can ask God to transform our thinking by the power of His Word. Lord, teach us to be WILLING TO TRUST.
"...I pray that you, being rooted and established in LOVE, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ"
