Ashley Shahbazi

Ashley Shahbazi is a professional pianist and music teacher based in Orange County. She received her Master of Music degree in Piano Performance from California State University, Long Beach, in 2021 where she studied under Craig Richey. She is now pursuing a Master of Arts in Piano Pedagogy from California State University, Fullerton, under the tutelage of Ning An.

A native of Southern California, Ashley earned her B.F.A. in Film Production from Chapman University while studying piano with Dr. Janice Park. Ashley has placed in competitions and festivals through the Music Teachers’ Association of California and the California Association of Professional Music Teachers, including first place in her district’s CAPMT Contemporary Competition (2019), and 2nd place in the Orange County Branch MTAC Concerto Competition (2016). Ashley was a recipient of the Keyboard Foundation scholarship at the BCCM and served as Vice President for the collegiate chapter of the Music Teacher’s National Association at CSULB. Other notable past teachers include Professor Mona Wu DeCesare and Marlene Feldman.

Ashley offers a patient and comfortable environment for students to thrive while they learn valuable skills handed down from years of experience and conservatory education. As Ashley is a current student and performer herself, she provides a unique student-teacher relationship to bring the best out of each student through a love and appreciation for the craft. She enjoys seeing her students make strides in their abilities while also developing a love for the instrument.
