Allie Cheney received her Bachelors of Music with Elective Studies in Theater from Wheaton College (IL) in December, 2021. She studied voice with Dr. Sarah Holman, jazz piano under Bradley Armstrong, and acting with Mark Lewis. While at Wheaton, Allie sang in multiple choirs and chamber groups, soloed in chapels, was heavily involved in the theater, assistant music directed Ordinary Days, won a talent show with an original comedic song, and performed alongside Michael W. Smith, The King’s Singers, and Voces8. Her notable roles include Margaret in Light in the Piazza and Lucy from You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown. Pre-college, Allie received over a decade of private piano instruction and performed in dozens of musicals.
Allie has freelanced as a collaborative pianist, choral singer, improv pianist, actor, and worship leader in both Chicagoland and CA. She currently teaches piano, voice, and ukulele lessons across Orange County, and she sings and plays keys at her church, Refuge OC. She is experienced in performing and coaching a variety of styles including musical theater, classical, contemporary worship, jazz, pop, singer/songwriter, opera, and art song. Allie brings a truly interdisciplinary approach to music due to her extensive background in theater and improv comedy. She enjoys teaching both children and adults and firmly believes that music should be fun!
