The pace of the restoration has picked up.
Exterior
- The scaffolding installation has been completed. Again, thank you for your patience as we were juggling trucks, workers, kids, and parents. The pickup/drop-off zone on Center has returned to normal for now.
- The exterior contractor has been working on installing all of the window protection. Today and tomorrow they are starting to layout where the anchors that will help tie the bricks back to the structure will be placed.
- Next week the grinding will begin. They will grinding out mortar between the exterior bricks and installing the anchor system.
Interior
This week has been all about demo. If you have not looked at the photo stream this week, then take some time to have a look the progress that has been happening. New photos have been going up at the end of each day this week.
- So far the Sacristy has been completely stripped, the AV booth has been removed, the front steps up to the altar have been removed, some carpeting in the front has been removed, both bathrooms have been stripped of tile and fixtures, and the ceiling underneath the balcony has been stripped off. That ceiling was removed to simplify the installation of many different things in that particular area like new electrical, audio system, and fire sprinklers.
- Today begins the process of tearing out the choir loft staging and preparing to relocate the doors at the top of each stairwell in the balcony.
- The electricians continue to remove the old electrical components - following behind the demo crew and they have begun to rewire the old lighting fixtures with new wires and sockets.
- The plumbers have begun the removal of all old pipes and sewer connections.
We are very blessed to have some great contractors handling our project.
Things are looking good and on schedule.

Have then found any secret compartments yet or discover any artifacts from when the church was built?
