Day 1 Foundation of Love—Jesus Chose Matthew

Miss Lara and some special friends teach us how Jesus called Matthew, a tax collector, to follow Him. Matthew left everything behind and followed Jesus. Matthew hosted a banquet. Jesus and His disciples came to the banquet. The Pharisees complained and questioned why Jesus ate with tax collectors and sinners. Jesus told the Pharisees that He came not for the righteous but for sinners. (Matthew 9:9-13)

Point: Jesus chooses to love me. I can’t earn it.
