I love the idea of a fundamental question.  A simple question, but one that requires a deep and thoughtful response.  It drives to the foundation, the simplest response, the reason.

I've been asked a few of them: Who am I?  What is your objective?  Why is there something instead of nothing?  There's a lot of them and when it comes to faith, there's probably a lot to be asked and answered.  Here's one for you this morning:

 Are you following Jesus today with more passion than yesterday?

 Our Faith walk is a journey.  A continuous journey of walking and following Jesus.  Everyone who travels the road of faith requires assistance from time to time when our passion wanes.  We need cheering up when we are low, we need direction when the way is unclear.  Thanks be to God that he has given us his Word to direct us in following Jesus.  His word speaks to us as we follow Jesus.  His word brings comfort, joy, and hope.  As you follow Jesus, hear his voice along the way encouraging you in your journey.  

Psalm 63

A psalm of David. When he was in the Desert of Judah.

1 You, God, are my God,
    earnestly I seek you;
I thirst for you,
    my whole being longs for you,
in a dry and parched land
    where there is no water.

2 I have seen you in the sanctuary
    and beheld your power and your glory.
3 Because your love is better than life,
    my lips will glorify you.
4 I will praise you as long as I live,
    and in your name I will lift up my hands.
5 I will be fully satisfied as with the richest of foods;
    with singing lips my mouth will praise you.

6 On my bed I remember you;
    I think of you through the watches of the night.
7 Because you are my help,
    I sing in the shadow of your wings.
8 I cling to you;
    your right hand upholds me.
