 Do you love growing in your faith? Do you love chatting over good coffee? Sonshine & Java brings these two together. This Tuesday morning ministry enables women of all ages and walks of life to fellowship and share their faith with each other.

Sonshine and Java means different things to many women here at St. John’s, all of which transcend it being just another Bible Study.
The women that attend feel that it is a wonderful way to meet other women. Even though we vary in age, background, and upbringing, we have grown into a big loving family. One that meets every Tuesday morning, which is for some, more often than we see our own families!
Talking with the women of Sonshine & Java is such a blessing. It is a meeting where you can either go and say nothing, or show up and spill your guts, all without feeling like you are being judged – think of it as a comfort zone for sharing. When one person is sharing about something they are going through, often you can see your own life reflected in their words. It is nice to find out that you are not the only one who has these issues, concerns or worries.
Many of the women have such an abundance of wisdom that it is as if we are all getting counseling – only with food too! You might say that we have a weekly party – for our spiritual needs. Some days we laugh so hard, we cry, and on other days, we cry so much we end up laughing.
So much of our time as women is spent serving others. We need to remember to re-fuel ourselves once in a while. Sonshine and Java provides a venue in which we can grow closer to God – with friends. You leave S&J feeling both lightened and enlightened at the same time, knowing that there is a group of amazing women who will be praying for you throughout the week, until we meet again…
