What Happened to Project 23 and St. John's Food Pantry?

What Ever Happened to Project 23 and the Food Pantry?

Project 23 and St. John's Food Pantry have been valuable ministries that have run for a long time at St. John’s, and we are grateful for the time and contributions that our community has made to both. So you may be wondering, “where they have gone and why have I not heard anything about them recently? “

We are known as a church that cares for people in need. We want to continue that caring presence, while also refocusing these ministries to make a greater impact.

This past year we have focused our efforts toward helping vulnerable children and families. We have been involved in Foster Care Ministry, Safe Families, and #ZeroBy2020 (a coordinated effort to find a family for every child by 2020 while equipping the church to support them).  This led us to realize that in order to make a greater impact on the most vulnerable in our community, we need to coordinate our efforts. We also realized that the need for this population is greater than just one day per year event, and building relationships is where impact really happens.

So, how can you get involved?

We have pulled together a task force to revision the Project 23 and Food Pantry ministries and discern how we can make the biggest impact in our community.

We are excited about the future of this ministry. We revel at God’s work as He does a new thing in our midst as we continue to find new ways to serve the most vulnerable in our community.

It is refreshing to know I am a member of a church with an eye to refurbish and review existing programs while embracing new proograms that will service the ever-changing needs of the society in which it exists. God thru Jesus is current, relevant and productive and constantly guides us to new heights of service in His name. Thanks to pastor Tim and the entire pastoral staff for their insight knowledge and guidance.
